APPENDIX 1 – PARTNER LOCATION/CHOICE IN PRAYING MANTIDS
juveniles collected from Kuringai Bicentennial Park and Yamba Reserve in Sydney from January - March 2013. housed individually inside well-ventilated 425 mL clear cups in the laboratory. laboratory temperature of 24-26 C and a diurnal period of 14 lumination hours daily. all juvenile mantids were placed into 1 of 2 feeding therapies: ‘L' (low quantity) or perhaps ‘H' (high quantity) treatment. low-quantity nourishing treatment was handed one little cricket (mean cricket body system mass sama dengan 0. 037 0. 003 g, n = 50) 3 x a week, high-quantity treatment was fed three small crickets three times weekly. pronotum length of all male mantids was written after the final moult (electronic calipers), and used as being a measure of body system size. guy antennal length was likewise measured using calipers.
